Schools That Lead has identified the four schools that will serve as demonstration school sites for Delaware. The schools are: Cedar Lane Elementary School in the Appoquinimink School District, Milford Central Academy in the Milford School District, Positive Outcomes Charter School in Camden, and Newark High School in the Christina School District. In the coming years, educators throughout the state will have the opportunity to visit these schools and study how they are using research-based supports designed to ensure students meet the challenges of Common Core State Standards.
Melisa Stilwell, Principal of Cedar Lane Elementary School shared that she “is delighted to have the opportunity to continue to learn how to be the very best we can be for our students and to share what we’re learning and doing with colleagues across Delaware.” Dana Diesel Wallace, Executive Director of Schools That Lead, notes, “Every student deserves to experience a world-class education. With this vision, we believe these demonstration schools will establish a standard of quality for Common Core-aligned instruction that is relevant, sustainable, and replicable.” Watch the Schools That Lead website for regular updates on the experiences of these schools as they commit to a journey of continuous improvement and collegial sharing.
